Living within the Calm
of a Flowing Heart: A One-Year Advanced Study for Healing Practitioners
A ten-month course of study, Living within the Calm of a Flowing Heart
offers healing practitioners the opportunity to increase their skills
across a range of dimensions: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
The day-long, once-a-month class, taught by Asclepeion Center co-founders
Ron Murray,
PT, ND, Doctor of Integrative Medicine, and Martha
Bramhall, LICSW, draws on the techniques of both traditional psychotherapy
and alternative healing techniques.
The aim of the course is to help those in the healing arts grow in
their ability to effect positive change in clients’ physiology,
psychological defense mechanism, negative cognitions, and negative
beliefs. An underlying purpose of the course is to help practitioners
open their own hearts to a fuller capacity for compassion. Lectures
cover such topics as the structure and functions of specific bones
or muscles; palpation of visceral organs; and ways of integrating
insight breakthroughs that clients may experience during an energetic
healing session.
Students are introduced to the Dynamic
Colloid Fluid Model of the human body as an aid to more deeply
understanding the operational mechanisms of alternative healing techniques,
such as CranialSacral
Therapy, Visceral
Manipulation, Myofascial
Release, and Body
Mind Healing.
Practitioners taking the course also bring up any professional problems
or challenges for group discussion.
The day-long session begins with tea at 8:30 and a quick review, with
a lecture scheduled to begin at 9:00. Each session, students work
in dyad (pairs), practicing the skills presented in the lecture. The
faculty moves among the dyads, facilitating and coaching the process.
One student per month receives an extended, multiple hands-on, experiential,
energetic healing session from all students and faculty.
Candidates must have completed course work equal to CST-I & CST-II
(first and second levels of CranialSacral Therapy) and SER-I (first
level of SomatoEmotional Release) from an accredited training program,
such as the Upledger Institute.
The class is limited to ten participants.
